15 Family-Friendly Annual Bike Events In London

London FreeCycle  - This event is perfect for families since it’s free and available for all ages. You’ll have riding hours of 10:00 – 15:00 and plenty of traffic-free roads that take in some of central London's most incredible landmarks!

RideLondon-Essex 100 - For this event, there’s a £5.00 entry fee, there are 100 miles of road cycling as well as a family-friendly closed road cycling experience. You can choose from 100 miles, 60 mile or 30-mile route options. This event is 18+ so perfect for family outings with young adults.

London to Paris cycle ride - Passing through picturesque Kent countryside and crossing the Channel will take you from London to Paris on an incredible cycling route with this event. Continue through the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France and see all the country has to offer. Anyone between the ages of 14-17 must have an adult with them.

London to Amsterdam Cycle  - Starting at Crystal Palace park, this event will take you on a  beautiful route through 4 separate countries, seeing you finish in Amsterdam. There are no age restrictions listed for this event.

London to Southend - This route is a little closer to home. This event will take you on a track around 52 miles / 65 miles with an optional extension via Shoeburyness. There’s an entry Pack available or team entry with prices from around £26. The minimum age is 14 years and any under 16 riders must have someone over 18.

London to Cambridge - Although it’s cancelled for 2022, on this route you’ll find a 60-mile route from the White Water Centre in north London to Jesus Green in Cambridge, This ride is not a race or sportive event and the minimum age is 14. Riders under 16 must have someone over 18 with them. 

Nightrider London - On this ride, you’ll cycle past London's most historic landmarks. This is a unique charity bike ride at night in June and there’s a £55 entry. It's also a fully signposted route so you’ll have no problem finding your way. The minimum age is 16 for this event.

London to Brighton bike ride - Costing between £1.00 - £45.00 for entry, this 54 miles of road cycling is great for experienced cyclists and first-timers alike. You’ll start at Clapham Common in South London and then finish at Brighton seafront. The age limit for this event is 16+.

Sidley London revolution - This is a fantastic event costing between £135.00 and £200.00. This is a one day cycling weekend on a 156.9-mile loop of London. The age limit for this event is 16+.

London to Brighton cycle ride - This even takes place in September and costs £55.00. It’s a 55 miles road cycling and fully signposted route so there’s no navigation required. The age limit for this event is 16+.

Green Stars - This event is 16+ but it’s a fantastic day out and you’ll be able to meet other cyclists in this cycling club.

Chiswick House - This ride is an easy-going ride for beginners. Families and children are welcomed and it’s a beautiful leisurely ride.

Design Museum - This ride is held in June and will see you travel to the Design Museum to visit the ‘Fred Perry’ Exhibition.

Sunset Ride - Take yourself and your family off on an evening ride to Richmond Hill.

Walpole Park - This event will see you finish at Elthorne Rough. It’s women-only and is great for beginner cyclists.
